IT and HR Pros to Discuss Social Media Business Solutions at CTHRA Roundtable in Atlanta

 

Naperville, Ill., October 9, 2009— Facebook…Twitter….mySpace…. we know how they are used outside of work, but what happens when the lines between personal and professional blur?  The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association’s (CTHRA) will tackle this critical question during a roundtable discussion titled “Social Media and the Implications to Business and HR.” The event will take place on Thursday, October 22 from 8:45 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. at Turner Broadcasting’s Entertainment Campus in Atlanta.

While previous events in CTHRA’s Regional Roundtable Series were exclusive to HR professionals, CTHRA is encouraging information technology (IT) professionals to take part in the conversation. Pam Williams, CTHRA’s executive director explained, “Given the far-reaching implications that social media has in the workplace, HR and IT are working together to develop solutions and policies that effectively address company’s business concerns.”

The roundtable will start with an expert panel sharing insight into the issue of social media in the workplace, including practical solutions and best practices. The panelists are Sherri Johnson is Executive Director, Internal Communications at Cox Communications, Inc; Jeffery Kissinger, vice president of interactive marketing for Scripps Networks; Rhonda K. Lowry, vice president of social media technologies for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.; and Misty Skedgell, vice president of corporate communications and corporate responsibility for Turner Broadcasting System Inc.
