CTHRA Appoints Discovery's Ted Stewart to Board of Directors

Naperville, Ill., February 19, 2009 — The board of directors for the Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has appointed Ted Stewart as a board member. Stewart, senior vice president of total rewards/human resources for Discovery Communications Inc. (DCI), will complete the board term of Adria Alpert-Romm, DCI’s senior executive vice president of human resources.

“Ted joins CTHRA’s board at a pivotal time, as our organization is expanding its resources to help industry employers meet the changes and challenges presented by the economy.  We welcome his insight and enthusiasm, and thank Adria Alpert-Romm for her contributions and service as a board member,” shared Lynne Ramsey, CTHRA’s president.

Stewart has more than 30 years of human resources experience with expertise in the areas of executive compensation, international compensation, design of recognition and rewards programs, employee benefits administration and technical staffing. He joined DCI in January 2003 and is responsible for the company’s global total rewards programs which include executive compensation, variable and general compensation, employee benefits, Lifeworks and human resources information management (HRIM). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Saint Peter’s College and has been affiliated with World at Work (former regional vice president); New York Compensation Association (former board member); Recording Industry Association of America (compensation committee) and the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
