CTHRA Seeks Nominations of Individuals and Companies for 2008 Excellence in HR Awards

Naperville, Ill., April 24, 2008 — Today the Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) announced a call for nominations for its 2008 Excellence in Human Resources Awards. The organization launched the annual awards program last year to provide deserving recognition for one individual and one company within its membership community. The nominations deadline is June 2, 2008.

“In addition to shining the light on a deserving company and individual, CTHRA's awards elevate the industry's awareness of the critical impact human resources has on bottom line results. We encourage all of our members to nominate the individuals and initiatives that have made a difference within their organizations over the last year,” said Lynne Ramsey, CTHRA's president and senior vice president of human resources for Charter Communications.

Award Criteria
Any CTHRA member company that has successfully planned and executed an HR strategy resulting in increased revenue efficiencies, enhanced cost containment or customer satisfaction is qualified to submit a nomination for consideration of CTHRA's HR Best Practices Award.  The 2007 recipient was Cox Orange County and Palos Verdes (OCPV). Last year, Brian Koenig, senior vice president of human resources for Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco Company, received CTHRA's Leadership and Excellence Award.

Industry-wide Recognition
CTHRA will honor the 2008 award recipients during a special luncheon during CTHRA's Symposium on October 13 in Atlanta.  In addition, CTHRA will highlight the winners on its Web site and in an issue of its member newsletter, and the awards' media sponsor, Multichannel News, will feature the winners in its publication.
