Executives from Cisco Systems, Turner Broadcasting System and Time Warner Cable Will Discuss the Transformation of the Industry During CTHRA's June 8 Symposium
Naperville, Ill., May 6, 2010 — The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association's (CTHRA) June 8 Symposium in Atlanta will kick off with a keynote address by Bob McIntyre, Chief Technology Officer of Cisco Systems' Service Provider Business. McIntyre will provide insight into how the industry is being transformed by technological advances, colliding competitive forces and changes in consumer behavior. As indicated by CTHRA's event theme, TAKE CHARGE 2010, HR professionals will play an instrumental role in the strategic planning and implementation necessary to ensure companies are prepared to excel in a marketplace that will look quite different than it does today. "Our industry is currently experiencing a combination of changing market forces that will have a seismic impact on how our companies operate. As a result, employers are re-evaluating everything from hiring and training to organizational structure and human capital analytics," shared Tom Mathews, EVP of HR for Time Warner Cable Inc. After McIntyre's industry overview, Mathews, Trish Jones, SVP of Strategic Audience Solutions for Turner Broadcasting System, and Peter Stern, EVP and Chief Strategy Officer of Time Warner Cable, will join McIntyre on the stage to discuss their perspectives on the industry's transformation and the pioneering practices their companies are employing. In addition to the morning general session, CTHRA's Symposium will feature three interactive breakout sessions, a luncheon honoring CTHRA's 2010 Excellence in HR award recipients, a general session led by business strategist Jim Shanley, and a closing networking reception. The one-day event will take place at Cox Enterprises' headquarters in Atlanta. Full details and secure online registration are available at www.CTHRA.com. Media Contact: Melissa A.
