Pat Esser, Row Henson and Dr. Ed Gordon to Headline CTHRA’s Achieving HR Excellence Symposium

Naperville, Ill., June 25, 2007 —The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has compiled a distinguished list of keynote speakers for its Achieving HR Excellence Symposium on October 23, 2007 in Atlanta. The event will kick off with an opening session featuring renowned human resources (HR) expert Row Henson drawing upon her 30 years of human resources experience and research. Patrick J. Esser, president of Cox Communications Inc., will address attendees during the luncheon, sharing his insight on the EchoBoomer generation and their influence and impact on our industry as employees and consumers. And Edward E. Gordon, Ph.D., president of Imperial Consulting Corporation, will close with a session on generational workforce issues.  CTHRA’s symposium will also include breakout sessions, an awards luncheon and networking reception.

Esser has nearly 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He joined Cox Communications in 1979. Today, the company has more than 6 million residential and commercial customers and over 22,000 employees. Cox Communications has earned multiple distinctions in customer satisfaction, diversity practices and company strategy. In 2006, Cox received the highest honor in J.D. Power and Associates' residential cable/satellite TV customer satisfaction study.

Henson is a fellow of PeopleSoft and former PeopleSoft vice president of HRMS global product strategy. She was voted one of the "Top Ten Women in Technology" by Computer Currents, received IHRIM's (International Association for Human Resource Information Management) coveted Summit Award for lifetime achievement in her field, and was named the first Visionary of HR Technology at the Annual HR Technology Conference.

Gordon is an internationally recognized expert on training, career, and education issues. With a consulting career spanning more than 30 years, Gordon has assisted a multitude of companies, organizations and government agencies including Microsoft, Motorola, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor and many others. He has authored 15 books and his expertise has been featured in more than 200 articles and on several television programs.
