
Women Don’t Ask: CTHRA Keynote to Explore Implications of Male/Female Negotiation Styles Naperville, Ill.–The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has announced that its Putting the Best to Work Symposium on October 19 in New York will feature a keynote address by Sara Laschever, a highly accomplished author and editor with expertise in women’s life and career obstacles. Laschever’s work has been published by the Princeton University Press, the New York Times, the New York Review of Books, the Harvard Business Review, Vogue, Glamour and several other publications. The session will focus on findings revealed in Women Don’t Ask: Negotiation and the Gender Divide, a book written by Laschever and economist Linda Babcock. Laschever will discuss how men and women differ in workplace negotiations, the social forces at play, and statistics that illustrate the dramatic impact that these gender-based differences have on individuals, business and society. CTHRA’s conference will be held at Ernst and Young World Headquarters and will also feature sessions on aligning HR strategies with business goals, risk management, recruiting and retaining Gen X and Y and other critical human resources issues.
