CTHRA Helps Cable Employers
Get Hip by Attracting & Retaining Gen X and Y

Naperville, Ill.–The Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) has assembled a stellar panel to help cable employers attract and infuse fresh talent into their organizations during a session titled “Get Hip: Attracting and Retaining Gen X and Y. The session will take place during CTHRA’s Putting the Best to Work Symposium on October 19 in New York City.

As 78 million working baby boomers approach retirement, it’s more critical than ever for companies to have a strategy focused on attracting younger employees. CTHRA’s panel will provide insight into the work-related issues that are important to younger generation groups, the type of business culture they prefer, and how to motivate and retain them as employees. In addition, attendees will learn how Gen X and Y can bring additional value to their companies by providing first-hand insight into how their peers behave as consumers in the broadband and telecommunications market.

The panel experts include:

Maribel Aleman, director of organizational development for A&E Television Networks. She is responsible for overseeing the organizational development initiatives that align AETN’s people, process, structure, and culture to support its business strategy and objectives.

Amanda Freeman, vice president of marketing, research, and business development for Youth Intelligence, a marketing consulting firm that uses traditional and non-traditional, proprietary techniques to determine today's concerns and tomorrow's trends.

Dennis Patton, chief operating officer for XY.tv, a lifestyle television channel combined with an interactive web experience that explores a wide range of topics and issues young people face in today’s world.

In addition to exploring what’s hot and what’s not for Gen X and Y employees, CTHRA’s symposium will feature programs on risk management, negotiation and the gender divide, aligning HR strategies with business goals and other critical human resources issues. Human resources professionals, trainers and managers of all levels throughout the MSO, programmer and vendor communities will benefit from attending.
